1 Black Skimmer Baby

Today's feathered friend is this cute Black Skimmer baby. Black Skimmers (Rynchops niger) feed by placing their lower mandibles in the water and “skimming” along, with the beak just under the surface. This is a juvenile, but you can see its beak already has the characteristic adult form.
